Certified Literacy Community Program (CLCP)
Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education
Created by the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education in 1990, the CLCP rewards communities throughout Georgia with certification and recognition when they successfully address their community's literacy needs within ten years of joining the program. To participate, communities must show they have sufficiently analyzed the needs of their constituencies and want to improve learning opportunities for those requiring assistance. Communities are also encouraged to build partnerships among businesses, community and faith-based organizations, local government and schools, the media and other organizations to meet this challenge.
